In the Woods: A Rustic Engagement Session by Jill Hotujec Photography

Rustic-Engagement-Session

Yay! This should be a good one for the Rustic Bride to be. We are having this wonderful session by Jill Hotujec Photography added to our Rustic Collection today. (Yes, this collection is finally growing!) From this post’s title you can tell the couple are going to be having some fun in the woods and as long as I am concerned, it doesn’t get any “rustic-er” than that! (Yes I love to make my own words)

For Katie Jo and Bret’s engagement session they wanted it to reflect them and the love of Hudson, WI where they live and grew up. They also wanted to include their dog and nature/outdoors to reflect things they love to do together. Some of the shots were taken at Willow River State Park in Hudson WI and then also some in quaint little downtown Hudson, WI by the arch for long lasting memories.

Many many thanks to Jill Hotujec Photography for this awesome one and hope you enjoy reading the love story (at the end) as much as swooning over the photos. Congrats to Katie Jo and Bret!

Their Story

“Bret and I went to the same high school and were in the same graduating class – although I don’t remember much about him and he doesn’t remember much about me. Our story really began when we both moved to Eau Claire for college and started hanging out through a mutual friend – we were just 20. Fast forward seven years to our favorite spot in the Virgin Islands. We were on a much anticipated vacation with my family to St. John. Our first full day on the island my mom declared we would spend the day at Maho Bay – my favorite beach. At some point during the morning Bret and I decided to take a walk down the beach. After some weird comments from Bret we decided to head back towards our area to a spot that I had commented on earlier – about what a great photo it would make. At that spot – surrounded by palm trees, the Caribbean and my family, Bret got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. I could go into details but the details don’t really matter – all that really matters is that Bret planned the most perfect proposal that I could have ever imagined.” Written from Bride-to-be Katie Jo
