Jennifer and Michael’s "Rustic, Sweet and a little vintage" Wedding by Will Blaschko

How they met:
The couple actually met on MySpace, back in January 2006. Michael sent Jennifer a message saying he found her ‘facinating’. She didn’t notice the typo, and responded — and they talked for hours that day, and pretty much every day that followed. A few years later, they were talking about how they had met and Jennifer joked that if he had misspelled anything in his first message to her on MySpace, she wouldn’t have responded.

They looked up the letters, and saw that he had indeed made a typo in his first message. I guess we can conclude it was a good thing Jennifer did not catch that typo!

Enjoy more of their beautiful day with the photos below, beautifully captured by Will Blaschko.

 Jennifer describes her Planning journey:

Our engagement was long (21 months), so I had lots of time to plan and save money. To me, the best part of wedding planning was spending time preparing with family and friends — deciding on THE dress with my mom, staying up late finishing the burlap/twine/ribbon boutonnieres with my maid of honor, painting chalkboards with my cousin, and so on. (Also loved getting a free cupcake sampler…woo hoo!) The hardest part for me was coordinating all the small details in the last few months — getting a final guest headcount, finalizing details with vendors, mapping out a timeline for the whole day, and so on. Wedding planning was a great experience, and I’m so pleased with the outcome, but to be honest, if I could do it again…I think we’d just hop a plan to Hawaii with our parents and a few close friends, have a small ceremony on a beach, then order some tropical drinks and call it a day!

Vendor Reviews by the Bride

Photographer
Will Blaschko was awesome to work with! We’ve been friends since college, and he’s such a talented person. He and his wife, Catherine, worked as a team to document the whole day – from putting on makeup, to holding the burlap “thank you” banner I had made. They also captured our engagement pictures at Discovery Park in Seattle, and really worked to understand our vision and ideas!

Cupcakes
Sweet Charley B’s cupcakes are to die for! We ordered cupcakes in five different flavors: chocolate, vanilla, pecan pie, apple pie, and lemon blueberry. Yum! I loved having cupcakes for guests because I thought it would be more fun for guests to choose their own flavor; I also l liked the ease of it versus traditional wedding cake (no plates and forks needed, just napkins!)

Blue Sky Bridal
I purchased my Pronovias dress from Blue Sky Bridal in Seattle, and would recommend them to every bride! Blue Sky Bridal is a bridal consignment shop — they have very high-quality dresses in tons of different styles and sizes, and all in perfect condition. The owner and staff did a great job making my mom and I feel comfortable and not pressured. We went to three different bridal shops, and this is the one we felt the most comfortable in. Another bonus: because I bought consignment, I was able to save more than 50% off of what the dress originally cost!
