Tucked away in lush green rolling hills near nowhere Southern California, is a gorgeous grove of olive trees and fields as far as the eye can see of lavender blooms. Nearby, a hundred-year old oak towered over Ashley and Timothy as they said their I DO’s in their Outdoor Rustic Elegant Wedding.

Special Details of the Outdoor Rustic Elegant Wedding

“We wanted to include our little ones in the ceremony in a special way, so we created a rustic wedding that displayed our wedding colors and theme and they were pulled down the aisle together.

It was important that our ceremony pictures emphasized the gorgeous 100-year Oak Tree. That tree and the olive groves were what made us fall in love with the venue, so we wanted to be sure we had wedding images that showed the scale and breathing taking beauty of those two areas. In fact, we wanted pictures at the Oak and olive grove ONLY and Jess, our photographer, insisted on pulling us away just before sunset to the lavender field area adjacent to the olive groves. I’m so glad we did, because those are some of our absolute favorite pictures. The venue was just a DREAM COME TRUE for a couple looking for a truly rustic venue.

FUN was also very important to us. We wanted our wedding to reflect the fun-loving personalities we have, so we tried to create an atmosphere that was both elegantly rustic, while ensuring it was A LOT of fun for our guests. Part of creating a fun atmosphere was incorporating the casual Photo Booth area near the reception so guests could get a few funny shots. We’ve gotten so many compliments not just on how gorgeous everything came together, but also on just how much fun our guests had.

Another part of creating that fun experience was ensuring we had plenty of time for guests to cut up on the dance floor. We scheduled our ceremony early enough to allow for us to all eat, let the food settle, and bust some moves for HOURS! We also ended our wedding with a colorful exit of light-sticks. This colorful and fun end was the perfect close to our dream wedding!” – Ashley

About the Couple

Ashley was introduced to Timothy by one of her high school friends when she moved a few houses down from him. Ashley’s first impression was “god he is hot!” And from their first date they knew we were exactly what they were both looking for in a partner. The pair started planning their future. Timothy proposed Christmas morning 2013 and since that day on, they have been full speed with being in love and growing their family.

Wedding Planning Advice

“Start early and plan ahead! Know what is most important to you and be willing to compromise on the things that aren’t. Have help because it can get overwhelming very quickly. Surrounding yourself with family and or friends that will know what you like and help you make decisions will make the process less stressful and more fun.” – Ashley
