When: June 03, 2017 | Where: Virginia Beach, VA | Theme: Christian, Beach | Color: Coral, Blue, Brown
Emma and Tyler both live in Tennessee, but decided to get married in Virginia Beach, where Emma spent much of her childhood. Their Coral Blue Virginia Beach wedding was nothing short of beautiful with the pretty colors, bright florals and a whole lotta love between the two!
The couple had a lovely laid back ceremony where they were encircled by their guests and family members at the beginning of their ceremony who pledged to support their marriage. Each member of the wedding party read part of a blessing before the couple exchanged rings.
Coral Blue Virginia Beach Wedding
“When we set out to plan our wedding we chose four words to describe our wedding and we called it our mission statement. We wanted our wedding to be Christ centered, comfortable, fun, and intentional. If it didn’t fit into those categories we didn’t worry about it.
I have always wanted turquoise to be one of the main colors at my wedding, it reminds me of the ocean and has always been my favorite color. We wanted to maintain a beachy feeling throughout the entire day, inspired by Sandbridge, Virginia. Sandbridge Beach has been one of my family’s favorite vacation spots for a long time. My grandmother loved it and it always reminds me of time that I spent with her.”
“My bouquet was built on a Bible that both my grandmother and mother carried on their wedding days. Each of my bridesmaids had a flower from my mother’s veil included in their bouquet. We had jewels of my paternal grandmother added to a bracelet and the earrings my maternal grandmother wore to my mom’s wedding were changed from clip-ons to studs.
My husband built a beautiful chuppah (no we aren’t Jewish). He carved each of the four poles and from each pole hung bells with the names of people who have died. Every time the breeze blew we were reminded of their presence in our lives and how we will be surrounded by love for the entirety of our marriage. We each asked two people to hold up the each pole.”
“Our attire choices were centered around comfort! We knew that it would be warm on the beach and that bridal party clothes can be extremely uncomfortable. The dresses the bridesmaids wore were breezy and lightweight in a beautiful coral.
The groomsmen and groom wore a lightweight pant and rolled up sleeves. Everyone was barefoot! It was such a comfortable day. My dress was the same. It was cool and flowy and made me feel so extremely comfortable as well as beautiful.”
Wedding Planning Advice
“Do it together. It’s not “her” day. It’s the start of a new journey and you should plan the beginning together. Don’t be so focused on the wedding, make sure you plan for what happens after everyone has gone home.”
