Romantic Vineyard Virginia Wedding

The Albemarle Estate on Trump Winery property was a stunning backdrop for gorgeous pink peonies and J. Crew bridesmaid dresses. Lauren’s gorgeous Monique Lhuillier tulle-filled gown and sparkly Badgley Mischkas absolutely stole the show.

The amazing talent of Blue Ridge Floral Design was on display with a one-of-a-kind flower-covered reception sign. Donovan-Groves Events and his team pulled off a truly spectacular wedding, dreamed up by a couple whose spirit matched the stunning decor.

This truly romantic wedding had a whole lot of amazing details but a few that top our list are the moss and flower covered XO at the reception, a live painter for the ceremony and that AMAZING fireworks photo!

Ribbon Ceremony: Brad and I wanted to include the special women in our lives in a unique way during our ceremony. We felt strongly they should be featured and included, so we came up with the idea for what we called a ribbon ceremony.

Excerpt from our ceremony: At this time, the Bride and Groom invite Lauren’s Nana, Mom and Aunts (Theresa and Diane), and Brad’s Mom, Lynda, to come forward for the Ribbon Blessing — as a symbol for the weaving together of their future family. Each will lay a piece of ribbon over the couple’s joined hands — on which each has written a “pillar word” for Lauren and Brad’s marriage. As they lay the piece of ribbon, Nana, Lisa, Aunt Theresa and Aunt Diane will give their blessing upon this union. Lauren and Brad, please hold both your hands together for the Ribbon Blessing.

How They Met

Brad and Lauren like to say they met the old-fashioned way…in a bar! A chance encounter that neither were expecting — a night out in Arlington, Virginia…setup through the encouragement of Lauren’s best friend Angelika and Brad’s friend Alex.

It was supposed to be just another Saturday night in Clarendon. They describe their revenge date happily as it played out in the perfect plot of a Lifetime movie. Both told me they remember saying to their friends: “Hey, if it doesn’t work out, at least it’s a good story!”

Wedding Planning Advice

“Be a team throughout the entire process. Reserve quality time together outside of planning to recharge. Build a dream team of vendors and treat them well. On your wedding day, be present in each moment because the day will go so fast.” – Brad

“On our wedding day, Brad and I made time to step away and spend a few minutes alone. We’re so thankful we did that because it allowed us time to appreciate and enjoy the moment. Remember, this is your day; make it about you. Keep you two at the center of every decision and create your own traditions.” – Lauren

“We’re so blessed in our lives and want to make sure we’re focused on what’s truly important in life. If you think about it, the whole wedding experience is about giving – vows, love, high-fives on the dance floor and gifts. Love, in its purest form, is about giving. From using sustainable decor and favors to hiring socially responsible vendors, it’s easy to incorporate the spirit of generosity and kindness into your BIG DAY. We hope to inspire others.” – Lauren
